Our perspective on life ( also called 'Worldview' ) is what dictates our actions in response to the situations we face in life. If you believe the Bible is the true and authentic Word of God your life actions, desires, and hopes will all center around pleasing Him who gave you existence.

If on the other hand you believe that this world and life is all there is, and you are focused on leaving behind a good looking corpse that has amassed a lot of material toys, your actions are going to be very different!

The actual eye is also the gateway to desire. From desire to temptation to sin is a very short walk indeed. Davids eye at sundown lit upon his neighbors wife and from there to murder and adultery, the steps were quick! Buddhism in fact links the root of all suffering to desire!

What do you allow through your eye gate? Porn/R rated movies/"action"( violent ) movies, vicarious watching of other peoples lives ( reality tv/ soaps), 24 hr shopping shows, car auctions, "crib" walkthroughs, houses of the famous, exotic weddings? Do any of these make you a better human being or just cause you to want more stuff?? Madison avenue advertising knows more about your eye than you think!!! And their goal is to get you to want more ... and more... and more...

STOP!!! .... and Open your eyes as to how you are being manipulated daily!

"For to be carnally minded is death; but to be spiritually minded is life and peace. 7 Because the carnal mind is enmity against God: for it is not subject to the law of God, neither indeed can be. 8 So then they that are in the flesh cannot please God. 9 But ye are not in the flesh, but in the Spirit, if so be that the Spirit of God dwell in you.
