question mark

  • What does your logo signify? The Fire is the fire of the Holy spirit, depicted inside of us, the triangle is symbolic of the Tent that we are, and we are composed of Body, Soul, and Spirit (the 3 sides).
  • Can I be a member of both a Tabernacle and a church? Yes, the two are not mutually exclusive. However, a lot of churches will not agree with the core distinctives of the Tabernacle.
  • What denomination does the Tabernacle align with? We are non-denominational, but would say that we are Reformed and Evangelistic in our theology.
  • What church are you based out of? We are not allied with any church. There is a founding Tabernacle in Shrewsbury, MA, USA started by Sudipta, and we hope, soon, many local Tabernacles in home-churches all over the world. We feel that the traditional church movement has made spiritual cripples out of most christians, and this is an attempt to get christians back to being accountable for their personal spiritual growth and walk.
  • How can I become a member of the Tabernacle? Look on these pages for a local Tabernacle near you. They will want to make sure that you have repented of your sins, been baptized in the name of the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit, and have been sealed with the Spirit. You can apply to them, and it is up to them as to whether they will admit you as a member. If not, start one! If you feel that your church is not feeding you, or you are not growing, start a small Bible study group in your home, and use the resources on this site to go through the Bible book by book! We recommend going through the Gospels, and then seeing where that takes you!
  • Why is the Tabernacle an Invitation-only organization? We reflect the fact that our Lord has conditions that you must meet before you enter His kingdom.
  • Can my home Tabernacle grow to more than fifty people? Yes, but we don't recommend it. If you grow beyond fifty, you should split up into two or more Tabernacles.
  • Can I call myself a Tabernacle, but not follow all the Tabernacle distinctives? We have no control over what you do as a home church, but if you don't subscribe to our ideas, we would prefer you not call yourself a Tabernacle. Use of the Tabernacle Logo implies that you understand what we stand for, and agree with it.
  • Are you Pre-Trib, Post-Trib, Mid-trib, A-millenial, Pre-millenial, Post-millenial? We are Post-Trib, Pre-millenial in our eschatology.
  • Are you Calvinistic in your theology? Yes. He got it right.
  • What do you think of << Your Religion Here >>? We strongly urge followers of an ideology or religion to examine its truth claims with an unbiased mind. Either all religions are false (there is no God) or there is one true religion (if there is a God) as all religions cannot be simultaneously true (conflicting truth claims). We think we know what it is - you should draw your own conclusions.
  • Are there any licensing fees to start a local Tabernacle? No
  • Where do you get the money to start a local Tabernacle? From the person(s) who wish to start it
  • Do you make money from advertising, local Tabernacles, endorsements etc.? No
  • Can you help me start a local Tabernacle? We are sorry, apart from the resources and tools on this site you are on your own, but be comforted, He will help you figure it out! Pray and ask him, and look for Him to put like minded believers in your way.
  • I don't have any Elders who will help me start a Tabernacle. What do I do? Check to see if you fulfill the qualifications laid out in Titus 1: 5-9; If not, pray for the Lord to reveal one to you in your church or elswhere, point you to a Tabernacle, or give you the gift. Be patient.
  • Can we have Women elders? Based upon the Titus text, an Elder needs to be a man, so No. However there are no restrictions when it comes to deacons.
  • What about the LGBT community? We believe that they have as much a claim to Christ as we do. However, repentance (change of heart) from sin (as expressed in God's word) is a first step. We have nothing against same sex loving relationships - we do however, follow the scriptures when it comes to same sex sex! :-) We are free to love anyone we want, we just dont think sleeping with them is helpful in that respect, apart from it being prohibited in Gods Word!!! :-0
