“Then I saw a new heaven and a new earth; for the first heaven and the first earth passed away, and there is no longer any sea.  And I saw the holy city, new Jerusalem, coming down out of heaven from God, made ready as a bride adorned for her husband.” - Revelation 21:1-2

We have previously drawn attention to the fact that ULTIMATELY Heaven is going to be a place on a new earth, and not some abstract spiritual concept in the ether yonder….. If you have read the book of Revelation, it is there in plain sight in Chapter 21….

What is remarkable, is that this destiny was ALSO given to the prophet Isaiah, over 2500 years ago! 

The words of our first text are found in the Dead Sea scrolls, writings that are the earliest surviving copies of the Hebrew Scriptures and dating back to 300-100 BC, with some copies dated as early as 800 BC. Our first text today can be seen in the scroll of Isaiah recovered from the very first cave!

The Biblical concept of a created universe, with the Heavens literally “stretched out” by the Right Hand of God is unique and stands alone, differing from Hinduisms concept of a cyclical universe regenerated over and over, a buddhist universe consisting of many worlds that must all be transcended, and pagan religions with wildly differing worldviews … eg Taoism, Shintoism, Egyptian, Sumerian, Greek and Roman.

The Bible is also cosmologically correct from a scientific perspective —- the universe IS expanding ( the rate, and reason for it is still being debated today in scientific circles , and theories like dark matter and dark energy are the current favorite hypotheses… tbd….). It is unique when it says the earth hangs on nothing!!! ( Job 26:7 ).

So….. what kind of a place would a God with infinite resources create? A new heaven, a new planet, and an amazing spaceship coming to rest on earth!!! We are given a detailed description of the city in Revelation.

To get a sense of scale, this spaceship (1500 miles high, by 1500 miles square … can be a cube or a pyramid ) has an area at the base of 2,250,000 square miles, slightly smaller than the continent of Australia ( 2,970,000 sq mi ). 

The height of 1500 miles is several times beyond the boundary of space (generally accepted at about 62 miles up), making this hypothetical cube/pyramid staggeringly tall and far beyond any current engineering capabilities or natural structures on Earth. 

The wall of this city is many times the height of the Great wall of China … 72 yards or 216 feet, compared with 30-40 feet for the Great Wall.

It is built with materials that are staggeringly rare and expensive on earth.12 layers, and precious stones are the bricks in each layer, with 12 pearly gates ( not just one iron gate like we see in the cartoons )….

Many people hold to a view that earth was terraformed, seeded, and visited by aliens in the past. They point to amazing structures and technologies we have uncovered from the past ( some still remain, like the pyramids and an iron pillar that never rusts in India ) as proof. 

Well, the Bible tells us this is indeed what happened, ?, but the “alien” in the Bible ( because He is Family ) has written everything down for us, and even given us detailed measurements!!! From the design of the tabernacle to the structure of a messianic temple, to a blueprint for Heaven, New Earth! Hallelujah!!

An interesting question might arise around units of measurement…. and here is an interesting verse, that gives us the scale for this city blueprint … 

“Revelation 21:17 (KJV): And he measured the wall thereof, an hundred and forty and four cubits, according to the measure of a man, that is, —of the angel.— “

Heavenly and earthly units of measure are all based on the scale of a human! Metric or Imperial we will leave the celestial standards bodies to decide ? , but anthropomorphic specifications!

What could be clearer or more detailed?

This city has been in construction for at least 2000 years, and it will take another 1000 (at least) to be fully prepared to make its first and last journey to its final resting place !!!

In this Universe, Information is the only core property. 

It determines what an atom is going to be, how it will behave, and every particle/wave obeys the rules regarding their behavior to a T. 

We are creatures of Information, from our DNA to our consciousness, and it is how we communicate and collaborate. 

In this, we get valuable clues as to the nature of our being, and The Being that created us, and did not leave us to speculate, but wrote all this Information down …. thousands of years in advance….!!
