I have seen the business God gives to ⌊humans⌋ to preoccupy them. Ecclesiastes 3:10

Providing for our daily necessities, and for those that depend upon us occupies most of our waking time - Solomon rightly traces the root of this to the Almighty.

"By the sweat of your brow you shall eat bread, until your return to the ground." Gen 3:19

Can you imagine the mischief we would get up to if we were not so preoccupied? It is an act that limits the amount of time we have to spend on sinful pleasures and pursuits. Likewise the ban on immortality limits the amount of sin we can commit to the amount possible in a lifetime.

It is an act of mercy, and I am thankful it reduces the atonement needed to be accomplished by our Saviour.
