Now Moses called all Israel and said to them: "You have seen all that the Lord did before your eyes in the land of Egypt, to Pharaoh and to all his servants and to all his land—the great trials which your eyes have seen, the signs, and those great wonders. Yet the Lord has not given you a heart to perceive and eyes to see and ears to hear, to this very day. ( Deut 29:2-4)

Seeing the miracle working hand of the Lord does not bring a person to saving faith unless the Lord himself changes the person's heart!

Now we can understand why "Many are called, but few are chosen". It is the Gift of God, not of works, lest any man should boast. It is a powerful illustration of the total depravity caused by sin, that all the calling in the world is powerless to change our hearts unless He is willing through the foolishness of preaching to save them that believe, through the faith that He provides.

Here it is in action in the New Testament- Acts 16:14 "Now a certain woman named Lydia heard us. She was a seller of purple from the city of Thyatira, who worshiped God. The Lord opened her heart to heed the things spoken by Paul."

We need to be called, chosen, and given the faith to believe! Rev 17:14 "These will make war with the Lamb, and the Lamb will overcome them, for He is Lord of lords and King of kings; and those who are with Him are called, chosen, and faithful."

Go to Him and ask Him to open your heart!!!!
